Sold in sets of 2, the Arsène chairs draw on some of the codes of bistro chairs: a square seat and backrest, with a slender black metal frame. The deep green buffalo leather is worked into fine horizontal channels. Its pronounced grain can be seen on the surface, with the irregular nuances of natural leather: it develops a patina over the years and darkens slightly, while signs of use become part of the material.

Firm at first, the buffalo leather gradually softens with use. The compact 40 x 36 cm seat makes it possible to add places in a small dining area; 48 cm from the floor, it is at the standard height for dining chairs and pairs with tables measuring 74 to 78 cm high. Stackable, the Arsène chairs can be stored in an instant. Once or twice a year, a special leather balm helps maintain the buffalo leather's suppleness.

Our interior design expert's inspiration: the deep green leather pairs beautifully with light wood. The ideal table would be a round top in light oak or ash, set on a central black metal base: the wood brightens the green, while the base echoes the lines of the chair legs. A matte, textured beige travertine top works well too. Above it, a rattan pendant light warms up the table; in black metal, it retains the bistro spirit. The Arsène collection is also available in brown leather, with a caned-back version that combines wood and leather, and as a bar stool.

Full-grain buffalo leather: the top layer of the hide, neither sanded nor corrected. The densest and most durable, it retains its original grain.
Firm at first, it softens with use and conforms to the shape of the body.
The earthy, musky smell typical of buffalo is a sign of authenticity: it fades within a few weeks; allow the product to air out.
It develops a patina and darkens slightly; scratches and signs of use are part of the material and do not affect its strength.

Dust the leather with a soft, dry cloth or a fine-bristled brush, following the direction of the grain. Clean marks with a barely damp cloth, then dry immediately. Do not use any chemicals, solvents, alcohol or stain removers: buffalo leather is a natural leather that cannot tolerate them. Once or twice a year, apply a special leather polish or balm to nourish it and maintain its suppleness. Avoid direct sunlight and proximity to a heat source, which dry out the fibres.
For the metal, a damp cloth followed by drying is sufficient: do not use corrosive products, and dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
