Bedside Tables

Placed beside the bed, a bedside table keeps everything you need in the evening and when you wake up within easy reach: a lamp, a book, an alarm clock, a glass of water. It also contributes to the bedroom’s décor through its material, shape and colour. Depending on the model, it may feature a simple tabletop, one or more drawers or a shelf for storing everyday items.

How do you choose a bedside table to suit your bed?

Compare the height of the tabletop with the height of the top of your mattress. For example, the Fira bedside table is 45 cm high, the Félix 52 cm and the Tali 3-drawer model 70 cm. Then measure the free space on each side of the bed. If space is limited, choose a compact format, such as the Oréa mango wood table, measuring 30 x 30 cm, or the Jakarta 1-drawer table, measuring 38 x 38 cm. Bedside table with a drawer, niche or no storage: which should you choose?

A drawer conceals small items and keeps the tabletop clear: the Jakarta and Alata tables each have one, the Tiny and Tiki have two, and the Tali has three. An open shelf keeps books and magazines visible and accessible from the bed, as with the Alabama table, which combines a drawer and a shelf. A model without a drawer is suitable if you only place a lamp and a book on it. Finally, check the depth on the product page to ensure that the bedside table does not extend too far beyond the bed. What materials and styles are available for a designer bedside table?
