Description
The set of 2 Jade chairs gets its retro look from a trio of materials: a moulded walnut plywood backrest, a terracotta corduroy seat and a slim black metal frame. Born in Manchester in the 18th century, corduroy is made by cutting woven threads on the surface, which rise into regular, soft-to-the-touch ribs. The velvet is made from 92% polyester and 8% nylon, two durable fibres chosen for everyday use: nylon resists friction, while polyester retains its colour in the light.
The 48 × 44 cm seat, padded with 22 kg/m³ foam, offers soft cushioning that is more yielding than firm; at 48 cm from the floor, it pairs well with tables 74 to 78 cm high. The curved plywood backrest supports the lower back while leaving the shoulders free.
Our interior design expert's inspiration: around a dark wood table, terracotta warms up the whole setting, paired with matte ceramics and dried flowers. When it comes to colours, the Jade collection embraces both classic and less classic shades — navy blue, ecru, burgundy, khaki and mustard yellow: enough to gather one single colour around the table, or mix and match several.

In case of a stain on velvet, immediately absorb the excess without rubbing, then dab with a clean cloth soaked in lukewarm water and a little mild soap (such as liquid Marseille soap), working from the outside inwards before wiping with a slightly damp cloth to rinse. Avoid harsh stain removers, alcohol, bleach, excess water and any heat source for drying; leave to air-dry, then gently brush when dry to restore volume to the fibres.
