The Lucien stool embraces understated style: a solid round seat upholstered in dark brown buffalo leather with a pronounced, textured grain, set on a central black metal base encircled by a footrest. This is natural leather that evolves: it develops a patina and darkens slightly over time, while every scratch and sign of use tells its story without compromising its strength.

Firm at first, the buffalo leather softens with use and gradually moulds to the shape it is given. With a 65 cm seat height, the stool is designed for a kitchen island or counter measuring 90 to 95 cm; without a backrest, it retains a compact silhouette and slides under the counter once the meal is over. Sold individually, it lets you create exactly the number of seats you need at the counter. Like all natural leather, it does not like being left wet: wipe away any drops promptly, and treat it with a leather balm once or twice a year.

Our interior design expert's tip: Lucien loves kitchens with plenty of character — a veined marble or stone countertop, a terracotta backsplash and a few brass accents. The dark brown leather takes on the feel of an old English club, warm and subtly refined.

Full-grain buffalo leather: the top layer of the hide, neither sanded nor buffed. The densest and most durable, it retains its original grain.
Firm at first, it softens with use and conforms to the shape of the body.
The earthy, musky smell typical of buffalo leather is a sign of authenticity: it fades within a few weeks, so allow the product to air out.
It develops a patina and darkens slightly; scratches and signs of use are part of the material and do not affect its strength.
To choose the right seat height, keep in mind that the space between the seat and the table should be approximately 25–30 cm.

Dust the leather with a soft, dry cloth or a soft-bristle brush, following the direction of the grain. Clean marks with a barely damp cloth, then dry immediately. Do not use any chemicals, solvents, alcohol or stain removers: buffalo leather is a natural leather that cannot withstand them. Once or twice a year, apply a special leather polish or balm to nourish it and maintain its suppleness. Avoid direct sunlight and proximity to heat sources, which dry out the fibres.
For the metal, a damp cloth followed by a dry wipe is sufficient: do not use corrosive products, and dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
