To drill the tap hole in your vanity unit, and the washbasin waste hole if it is not integrated into the vanity unit. You will need a hole saw with a 45 mm diameter bit for the washbasin and a 35 mm diameter bit for the mixer tap.

And wall plugs suitable for the type of wall to secure your furniture. For a plasterboard wall, use Molly wall plugs. For a concrete wall, use concrete wall plugs.

- A service void is provided at the back of the unit to allow waste pipes to pass through. Check that the pipes fit properly. If necessary, slightly adjust the position of the unit to make it easier to access the taps.
- Do not overtighten the screws: this could damage the materials. Tighten them just enough to hold everything securely.
- Identify the location of the taps before installing your washbasin.
- Do not drill the hole for your mixer tap with your washbasin already in place. This could damage it.
- Before drilling, take the time to check whether the positions of the washbasin and taps suit you. To do this, check the overall appearance both up close and from a distance.
- The water from your mixer tap must fall into the basin regardless of the water flow rate, without any risk of splashing out. Ideally, the water should reach 1 to 2 cm beyond the drain. There should be no dripping between the basin and the base of the mixer tap.
- Turn off the main water supply before making the connections.
- Beware of hollow walls: when mounting to the wall, make sure to use suitable wall plugs. For plasterboard walls, use Molly-type wall plugs.
Some precautions
Check that the wall can support the weight of the unit (avoid partitions that are too fragile). A wall-mounted unit must be fixed to a load-bearing or reinforced wall.
