Mango wood buffet with marble top

The Flavio sideboard combines two noble materials: a solid mango wood body stained walnut, with fronts enhanced by fine vertical fluting, and a top crafted from Emperador marble. Mango is a hard, dense wood that resists everyday knocks, with a unique grain from one piece to the next. It is harvested from fruit-growing trees, without deforestation. Sourced from Spanish quarries, Emperador marble features a deep brown background crossed by fine light veins; each top, cut from a different block, has a one-of-a-kind grain, smooth and cool to the touch.

Behind its three doors, three solid wood shelves hold tableware, table linens or carafes. Measuring 145 cm long and just 45 cm deep, it sits neatly against a wall without overwhelming the room, while its fluting catches the light in fine vertical bands. Adjustable feet beneath the unit compensate for a slightly uneven floor.

Our décor expert’s inspiration: Emperador marble and walnut-stained mango are two shades of brown—one cool and polished, the other warm and matte. Leather adds a third, supple and patinated, as seen on the Célestin chairs in reddish-brown buffalo leather. The rectangular Asma table in walnut veneer echoes the colour of the body, while chrome adds the cool note called for by the marble’s veining. Wipe up any spilled liquid immediately: marble is porous and sensitive to acidic substances. Clean with a soft, damp cloth and pH-neutral soap, then dry. For wood, a soft, dry cloth is sufficient, along with a special wood oil every six months.
